During the renovation, workers removing partitions on
the fourth floor found a patch of graffiti on the outside wall of the
cylindrical concrete stairwell, near where the telephone had been in
the architecture studio housed there in the 1950s and early 1960s. Although
much of the damage to the building’s concrete walls and columns was
meticulously repaired, the graffiti was kept for sentimental reasons.
