Trumbull Gallery, 1832–1901
Painter John Trumbull and his wife were interred here beneath his painting The Declaration of Independence. The Old Campus building housed America’s first university art collection until the collectionand the Trumbull remainswere moved to Street Hall. With windows added, the building housed the treasurer’s office until 1901.
