An early 19th-century Federal, or “Grecian,” couch, carved out of mahogany by an unknown maker in Baltimore. Its legs, decorated with acanthus leaves, end in elaborate brass casters. The two doll's-size sofas beside and underneath it are furniture maker’s models, also in mahogany, made in the early to mid-19th century.
